The GEM II is a complete metabolic monitor system in a compact, easy-to-use portable format comprising the GEM II unit complete with a simple disposable hygienic mask, making it suitable for patients of all ages.

Individual nutritional needs in the treatment of obesity, anorexia, and acutely ill patients vary widely; both overfeeding and negative energy balance are harmful. The only reliable method of designing and maintaining optimal nutrition in these patients is to measure their true energy expenditure.

Ease of Use The GEM II is easy-to-use for both clinician and patient enabling you to assess individual energy requirements and response to nutrition needs of patients. When the GEM II is turned on, it automatically calibrates ready to use. After the test is completed, results are presented on the display screen and can be printed to provide a hard copy report, as required. No computer or additional software is needed to operate the GEM II.
